Officially not spring yet; but a very fun activity from 20 to 27 February. Celebrate the arrival of spring during the Snowdrop Days in the charming village of Den Hoorn. These days are dedicated to the first bloomers of the year and you will find all kinds of walks and cultural events that highlight the beauty of early spring.

Experience the joy of spring during the beautiful Lamb Hike on De Hoge Berg. A joint walk will take place on 21st April: a perfect opportunity for both young and old to experience nature's revival up close. The route - ranging from 5 to 40 kilometres - will lead you through picturesque landscapes and meadows where you will encounter playful lambs. This walk can also be done at other times in spring.

For an educational day, Ecomare is highly recommended. It is a unique opportunity to admire the fascinating seals up close, in a protected environment, and learn about their habitat and behaviour. And did you know it also has a bird sanctuary, nature museum and aquarium?

More than 70 places on the island light a variety of bonfires on 30 April. This tradition, known as the Meierblis, is special cultural heritage and lets people come together to celebrate the transition from the dark winter period to summer. 

From April to mid-May, Texel transforms into a colourful carpet of blooming tulips, daffodils and hyacinths. Particularly in the south and north of the island, you will find vast bulb fields that are a feast for the eyes.
