Park Borntal, Harz mountains

Right at the Harz Mountains, Germany, a unique park with 83 eco lodges is being developed in the town of Bad Sachsa. The lodges are situated on a hill, allowing you to enjoy stunning views from your holiday home. Through romantic paths and under rustling pine trees, you walk straight into the overwhelming nature.

Holidaying amidst overwhelming nature

Bad Sachsa is a small spa town on the sunny, southern edge of the Harz Mountains in Germany. With its climate and location amidst up to 600-metre-high mountains, Bad Sachsa is the ideal place for both relaxing and active holidays in any season. Explore dense deciduous and coniferous forests, along wild mountain streams and cliffs. Enjoy the silence broken only by the calls of the Black Woodpecker and Marsh Warbler. Treat yourself to the magnificent view from the legendary Brocken after a steep climb.

Because of its high altitude, Bad Sachsa is a true paradise for cross-country skiers, snowboarders and tobogganists in winter. Ravensberg has three ski lifts and child-friendly slopes. The slopes connect to the 42-km-long Südharzloipe. Snowshoe hikes through the beautiful winter landscape are possible as well. Small winter sports fans can enjoy the slopes on the forest toboggan run. For apres ski, visit one of the cosy bars in Bad Sachsa.

A large part of the Harz is a protected nature reserve. In summer, hikers can follow the extensive network with 9,000 kilometres of hiking trails. Mountain bikers will find their ideal route with different levels of difficulty at 2,200 km of trails. Individual mountain bike routes are accessible from Bad Sachsa as well as the 74 routes of the Volksbank-Arena-Harz.

Park Borntal borders the protected primeval forests and through the park runs a small brook with considerable height differences. The lodges feature a high loft, a fireplace and a spacious terrace. Each lodge has a beautiful view of the surrounding nature.
