Texel's long, wide beach is the place for children to play. Run and jump in the waves or build a sandcastle on the tide line. At Kaap Noord beach pavilion, there is a fine children's menu and plenty of space for the kids to romp around.
Kids can learn wave surfing at Surfschool Texel; experienced surf instructors join them in the water.
In Den Burg you will find the lovely heated open-air swimming pool Molenkoog with three pools, a slide, a nice sunbathing area and a terrace. Many activities are organised in summer.

The Juttersmuseum (Beachcomber's) Museum on Texel is a fun and interesting museum for the whole family. You will find beach finds dating back more than 80 years.
With no less than 1500 m2 of exhibition space, Texel's Erfgoedmuseum Waelstee offers a good picture of Texel in the past. Experience how the inhabitants lived and worked in earlier times.
Put on your boots and explore the beautiful Wadden area together; mudflat hiking is an adventurous excursion with the kids! You spot lots of marine animals such as shrimps, crabs and unusual Wadden birds looking for food.
Walk the Sommeltjespad (1.5 km) through Texel's Dunes National Park with the children. Along the route, children search for Sommeltjes (earthmen made of stone) and animals that live there.
For children aged 12 and over, you will find a fast 500-metre kart track on Texel where you can race at up to 70 kilometres per hour.
Ecomare is Texel's nature museum and seal sanctuary. Here you will learn all about seals, seabirds and other marine animals. You will also learn a lot about the Wadden area, the North Sea and nature on Texel.
Seal spotting at sea? Join a cruise on the TX44 and enjoy a scenic cruise past sandbanks and Den Helder's naval port.
Texel is known for its many sheep and lambs, so a visit to Schapenboerderij Texel is a must during your holiday on the island! You can cuddle lambs here all year round and there are also guinea pigs and chicks to hold.
At IJsboerderij Labora, you can choose from lots of flavours of artisanal ice cream and watch the farm's cows being milked by milking robots. There is a large outdoor playground where children can have hours of fun.
At Landgoed De Bonte Belevenis, you will learn how products are made with raw materials from Texel. Kids can take part in soap, bread or candle-making workshops and romp around in the large outdoor playground.
Near the marina in Oudeschild is a 32-metre-long publicly accessible play area where children can climb and clamber to their heart's content. At the water playground, children can play with sand and water from the Wadden Sea.
