In the woods of Baarn is a beautiful open-air swimming pool, suitable for young and old. Sheltered between forest and heath, Huizen also has a fine swimming pool, equipped with a diving tower, diving pit and large family slide.
Prefer swimming in open water? Then head to the Spiegelplas, the summer quay in Huizen, or the play beach in Muiderberg.

In Singer Laren's open children's studio, children get to work on their own in the theatre or museum every Sunday.
A visit to Muiderslot Castle is also well worthwhile; you will go back to the Middle Ages and imagine yourself among knights, swords and armour.
Also, take the kids to the Beekeeping, where you can see and learn how a colony of bees lives. You get a tour of the garden and can taste the best honey.
For small children, several petting zoos can be found in the area, such as De Warande and De Meent .
At Hoeve Ravenstein you can help with the farmer, do crafts or play life-size cow memory.
Also take a walk with alpacas at the Gooische Alpacafarm.
Speelpark Oud Valkeveen has been a household name in Loosdrecht for 95 years. There is a large playground, a theatre and its own beach. In bad weather, you can visit the large indoor play hall.
In the middle of the nature of the Goois Natuurreservaat lies Speelbos ‘t Laer. It is a popular playground for children with only natural play elements such as a stream, a tree-trunk path, hollow paths and much more. Children can spend hours having fun with sand, water, boulders, climbing trees and building huts.
The Adventure Factory in Loosdrecht offers more than 50 different indoor and outdoor activities such as laser gaming, LED bowling, solex driving or a survival track. Fun for two, but also for a larger group during a family weekend.
At Spelekids you can slide, climb, spin, jump and much more. For parents, there is a nice workplace with free Wi-Fi and delicious coffee.
Need to burn off some energy? At the monumental Clemenskerk church in Hilversum, you can let off steam at Flight Deck 53, a trampoline and freerunning park.

Buitengewoon de Bosrand is a nice restaurant to take the kids to eat pancakes after a nice walk in the woods or bike ride.
Brasserie Zonnestraal is a child-friendly restaurant, where dogs are also welcome. You can also enjoy breakfast here and it is within walking distance of the park.
At Buiten in de Kuil children can play in the pit while you keep an eye on them from the terrace with lounge sofas.
A tip for a nice lunch in the forest is Theehuis ’t Hooge Erf. You walk straight into the forest here after a delicious homemade soup or sandwich.
