Veerse Meer
In the heart of Zeeland lies the Veerse Meer. Once a turbulent estuary, it is now a water sports paradise for surfers, canoeists, sailors, water skiers, divers and fishermen. Cosy places like Kortgene, Kamperland and Veere are situated by the lake and are worth a visit. Numerous uninhabited islands are waiting to be discovered in the Veerse Meer. Mooring at these special places is highly recommended. Because of the shallow banks the Veerse Meer is very suitable for families with children.
The Banjaard beach
The Banjaard beach, 10 minutes by bike from the luxury villas in Kamperland, is the ultimate beach experience for the whole family. The beach is no less than 3 kilometres long and has been one of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands for years.
From transition to transition there is a wooden walkway over the beach so you can easily reach almost any spot on the beach with a bolder or pram, but also with a wheelchair or scooter. At various places on the beach you can rent beach beds, windbreaks or a beach house and for children there are play equipment available.
Nature area the Schotsman
The adjacent nature reserve the Schotsman is a former sandbank, which fell dry after the closure of the Veerse Gat. In addition to open terrain with grassland, mudflats and dunes, bordering the Veerse Meer, the nature reserve consists of mixed woodland. The Schotsman is an ideal area for bird lovers, but roe deer, rabbits and foxes can also be spotted here.
Middelburg
Zeeland's attractive capital, Middelburg, is 18 kilometres from the luxury villas in Kamperland and is well worth a visit! In the historic centre of Middelburg the attractions and sights are within walking distance around the shopping centre with department shops and specialty shops.
